Strainstall has access to a wide range of sensor technologies and products, and selects the most appropriate and cost-effective for each specific application. The normal measurement parameters are:
The data acquisition systems fall into two categories - static and dynamic. Static systems are designed to collect data that ignores the effect of transient loads and have relatively slow scanning rates. These are usually proprietary dataloggers, configured and programmed for the specific application. Often they are solar powered and fitted with GSM modems, to enable full remote monitoring even when no power or communications infrastructure is available at site.
Dynamic systems are designed to capture data resulting from traffic loads (as well as trends due to diural and seasonal effects). The scan rates are usually 100's or 1000's of 
samples per second, using PC based systems. Our operating program provides for alarm triggers and data reduction. Typically, statistical data is saved under normal conditions, but triggered data is stored at full sample rate.
We also work closely with suppliers and developers of new measurement technologies and strive to provide the most up-to-date and cost effective solutions.
