The main type of strain measurement sensor for structural testing work is the electrical resistance strain gauge, of which there are many different types. Strainstall is able to advise on the selection of strain gauges, methods of attachment and strain gauge protection for particular applications with consideration of the material, measurement range, temperature and environmental conditions and design life for the installation.
Strainstall has a particular skill in the deployment of strain gauges in extreme environments, including very high temperature environments within power stations. Other strain measurement sensors are used for particular applications and are either sourced specifically from leading suppliers or are available for hire. We are also able to recommend and use the most appropriate technology for specific applications.
