Strainstall provides a fatigue life monitoring service to the developers of prototype vehicles and machinery. The normal process is iterative, with prototypes being assembled based on initial finite element design models. Strainstall then fits strain gauges at key locations and collects data whilst the vehicle/machine is subjected to testing.
We then process the data and calculate fatigue lives for each position. A comprehensive report presents results in a summarised form with both tabular and graphical outputs for ease of comparison to the design calculations. This information can then be fed back into the design process and used for further optimisation.
