Deflections and displacement occur naturally in structures from various sources, such as load and temperature changes. These deflections and displacements sometimes need to be calculated in order to verify that they are within acceptable limits. Deflections in a building can cause cracks and structural damage, and machine and aircraft specifications may limit deflections in order to prevent undesirable vibration. Strainstall have many years experience in the installation of deflection and displacements measurement systems that incorporate specialist sensors and instrumentation, linked to data acquisition systems, that capture data at a sufficient rate to enable full deflection and displacement characteristics to be measured.
