Within the Aerospace industry, Strainstall has extensive experience in the installation of strain gauges for fatigue monitoring and stress analysis, utilising highly specialised installation procedures that are required to avoid damaging the fragile materials used. We have carried out strain gauge installation on prototype air frames for a major UK helicopter manufacturer and strain measurement in fuel tanks for British Aerospace. We have also undertaken in-service fatigue monitoring and in-situ testing on both materials and components to assess any damage the manufacturing process may have had on them, which could accelerate fatigue life, for various other clients.
